Special course in transesophageal echocardiography
3D echocardiography has arguably been the most significant development for echocardiography in the past two decades. Over the same period of time, percutaneous transcatheter interventions for structural heart disease have become increasingly common. Also, the complexity of surgical procedures and need for intraprocedural imaging increases.
Reasonable combination of 2D and 3D echocardiographic imaging offers several important advantages and add to improvement of quality and procedural safety.
In our two-day workshop we will share with you our profound experience in 3D echocardiography. Furthermore explanation and practicing of step by step image acquisition, quantification and optimal intraprocedural usage of interventional transesophageal echocardiography belong to the main part of the programme. In the hands-on sections you will get familiar with multiplanar reconstruction, cropping and various quantifications of 3D images using EchoPac (GE) and Philips software.
We believe our workshop will enable attendees to significantly enhance their understanding and appreciation of 3D echocardiography and its clinical application during transcatheter and surgical procedures.

The training will take place in presence in the room “Weißer Saal” of the DHZC/Campus Virchow-Klinikum.
