Nursing training with the German Heart Centre of the Charité

A profession with heart and purpose: learn the nursing profession at a university heart centre

As a prospective nurse, interpersonal interaction on the ward is crucial to the success of our patients’ treatment. We therefore attach great importance to this important component and integrate it into our comprehensive training curriculum. Our training is characterised by close supervision from experienced teaching staff and a particularly large number of practical components on cardiac wards.

Our generalist nursing training programme is carried out in close cooperation with the DHZC and focuses on inpatient acute care. Here you will learn all the essential skills and competences that you need as a nurse to provide our patients with the best possible care.

Information
All information at a glance

The generalist nursing training programme lasts three years full-time and offers a comprehensive curriculum. At our academy, you will spend around 2,100 hours acquiring the theoretical knowledge of the nursing profession, which you will be able to apply directly during your practical placements of around 2,500 hours. The practical elements will mainly take place on the wards of the DHZC, where you will gain valuable experience in the fields of cardiac surgery, cardiology and paediatrics. You will also complete external assignments with our co-operation partners to supplement your practical training.

Your training concludes with a written, practical and oral examination.
