According to the ILCOR/AHA 2020 guidelines
Resuscitation of patients in circulatory arrest is a core medical skill that practically everyone relies on. Despite intensive teaching in medical school, the practical skills must be maintained through professional training and regular practice. In addition, the treatment of infants and children remains a particular challenge even for experienced emergency physicians, as the situations are rare and of particular emotional severity.
Successful resuscitation depends not only on individual technical skills but also on the ability to act and communicate as a team in a stressful situation. Simulating and practicing this situation in the course is an essential part of the courses in accordance with the guidelines of the American Heart Association (AHA). The principles of a positive error culture are also taught, which benefits patient safety overall.
This course, organized by the Charité, is based on the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) concept of the AHA on the basis of the current (2020)
guidelines and is aimed at all clinically active physicians who want to prepare themselves for pediatric emergencies. Paramedics and nurses with several years of professional experience in emergency areas and a current BLS course (< 2 years) can also participate.
All training courses are held with original materials in licensed German translation.
We have put together an exciting and interactive program for this 2-day course.
The training will take place in person on the Charité Mitte campus and is limited to 12 participants.
